Sample Artifacts

Below is the layout of my classroom. Students are placed in groups of six so they can build relationships and collaborate on activities.

Below is an example assignment for our writing format called Claim, Evidence, Reasoning. In Quarter 3, the students read S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. Students use the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning format throughout the entirety of the year.

To the left are a series of activities and lessons the students have been working on in quarters three and four.

HyperDocs- For our unit on the Literature of the Civil War, students received a Hyperdoc each week. These allow students to navigate various websites, view videos, annotate articles, and create a Flipgrid (in accordance to speaking standards, students answer an Essential Question through a video recording of themselves).

Dialectical Journal example shows the ideal entry for a response about The Outsiders. 

Point of View lessons to align with the CAASP testing preparation.

To the left are various lessons and activities done on the white board. I utilize the white board frequently, especially for visual learner. The slideshow presents lessons on teaching writing, author's purpose, main idea/ theme, and other engaging activities.
