Introduction: Miss Knutson

Hello! Welcome to the online page of Ms. K's English Language Arts class. I am looking forward to this school year, and cannot wait to learn alongside your student. 

I have always had a heart for reading. At a young age, I knew I wanted to be an English teacher. In high school, I would swallow extracurricular books by the spoonful and took extra ELA classes as electives. Now, I know some of my students will not be as eager as I was, yet there is some hint of appreciation for English in every student. From watching cinematic creations of our novels, to discussing cultural hot-topics, students will enjoy delving into the critical thinking that is ELA. 

I received my degree in English for Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University where I took extensive courses in Literature and education. 

Students thrive the most when they are supported in and out of the classroom. I will do everything in my ability to help your student grow to their full potential. However, my work cannot be done at home. Therefore, I encourage you as a parent or guardian to foster an environment that motivates your student to achieve and give full effort. With your encouragement and my support, your student will grow immensely.
