Clinical Practice

My first evaluation occured January 29th, 2019, and was on a lesson on Claim, Evidence, Reasoning. Teaching writing is difficult however students excel more with a format. This format includes a claim, quote from the text and analysis. In this lesson Students reviewed chapter 3 of The Outsiders and discuss how it relates to the Essential Question. In their groups, they located quotes that related to the Essential Question and recorded them in their Dialectical Journal.

My fourth and final evaluation will occur on April 23rd, 2019. In this lesson, students will review a practice CAASP test. The lesson will begin with a full class practice. I will read them one excerpt from the test, we will complete the the following few questions together and I will give them test taking strategies. Then they will work in their teams to read the next excerpt and answer those questions. We will come back together as a class and review answers.
